What does a Plant Controller do?

A plant controller position is responsible for coordinating all accounting and financial reporting activities at the plant. This includes developing the plant budget, conducting plant financial operation review meetings, variance analysis, return on investment analysis, and coordinating and maintaining multilevel bill of materials, routings, and process cost standards. The Plant Controller provides financial leadership to the Plant Manager and all plant departments.

The education required is a 4 year degree in Accounting or Finance; 5 to 8 years experience in manufacturing cost accounting.
